APPENDIX A – REQUIRED EMS EQUIPMENT CHECKLIST
In addition to the equipment required for transport vehicles and non-transport vehicles by the Virginia Office of EMS, the Operational Medical Directors of the agencies of Eastern Shore EMS mandate the following equipment, to assure the abilities of the providers to comply with the Tidewater Regional Medical Protocols, 12th Edition and Eastern Shore addendums.
- Nasogastric tubes (Size 16, 18) recommended (2) of each size
- EZ-IO Drill and needle system (2) of each size needle (Adult/Pediatric) – Recommended (Bariatric Yellow)
- Pulse Oximeter & size appropriate supplies (adult, pediatric, infant)
- Capnography (wave-form and numeric) capabilities and supplies capable of CO2 monitoring (nasal and advanced airway)
- Defibrillator capable of the acquisition and transmission of 12-lead ECG
- Glucose Meter and related supplies (lancets, test strips, quality control solutions)
- Pediatric Bag (Broslow or similar dates 2016 or later with supplies per stocking list)
- Approved CPAP system and appropriate mask sizes (if applicable to system)
- King Airway Devices (Sizes 2, 2.5, 3, 4, and 5) at least 1 of each size
